In June 2010, I launched MamaPear Designs. I was unsure where my idea for this business would take me, but I was ready to take a chance. There were two things of which I was certain: my passion for breastfeeding and my belief that I have cute shirts and onesie designs. I had no online connections, no local connections, but I went for it anyway. With an open mind, guided by what I really feel I was called to do, I decided to make my business happen, and it has exceeded my expectations in the process! (Not too shabby for a mom who hasn’t had a full night’s rest since giving birth in 2007 
)
So here I am a year later and I am on the cusp of reaching my first big goal! Last summer, I created a vision board, and one of the first things I added to my board was the information for the International Lactation Consultant Association’s annual convention in San Diego, July 2011. I immediately started laying the groundwork, slowly working toward and envisioning my goal, and guess where I will be this July? I will be exhibiting at ILCA and debuting my new designs and products I created especially for healthcare professionals.
In honor of MamaPear Designs’ first anniversary, to promote breastfeeding, and to celebrate reaching my goal, I am hosting my very first giveaway! Fifteen (yes 15) lucky winners will each win one of the cutest bumper stickers I have seen in a while. Stick it on the bumper of your car, your refrigerator, make a door hanger so you can pump at work, or stick it on your husband’s backside when he is not looking. Really mamas, the possibilities are endless!

Me too! Oh and this thought came to me before but when I see the Gaga for Tatas shirt I always think I’d like my supportive hubby to have that shirt haha! He had a shirt that he wore proudly “My boys can swim” It can provide as a two fold man gift – a gift for dad-to-be to give him that confidence in being his baby mama’s support system when it comes to breastfeeding and then for those dads who are looking forward to the day their last baby has weaned and the tatas can be celebrated for having done their job ; ) whatcha think?

I breast fed my babies to 18 months and so many people told me how disgusting and wrong I was. Apparently, it’s gross to be a good mom. Who knew?

I am so glad you created this business! I think the tide is beginning to turn in the right direction towards breastfeeding in this country, but sites like this are needed to provide positive info to those who don’t know and to reinforce those who do. It’s nice to read your posts and see your designs and to feel extra support and positivity.
I am now breastfeeding my 2 month old daughter (breastfed my first daughter until 17 months)…my older daughter who is now 3, is so aware and comfortable about breastfeeding. But it is amazing how many of my friends’ children who I am around and when I breastfeed they are completely in awe and confused because they have never seen it before as their siblings were formula fed. It makes me happy to know that my older daughter will have memories of me breastfeeding her sister and that will positively influence her own experience when she has children.
